Giddy Up Horse!
#170016

A child’s horse. A round barrel for a body, fire hose and swing pedals for stirrups, ropes and pulleys for reins, carriage wheels for hooves, a mop-head for a tail. This girl has got it all. Colored in yellow wash.

Circa 1950 or before. From the mid-west. Perhaps the most extraordinary horse of them all. From a time when Americans made their own children’s toys. The best piece of “folk art/American primitive” we’ve seen in a very long time.

Height: 84 cm/33 in
Length: 90 cm/35.5 in
Width, stirrup to stirrup: 42 cm/16.5 in
