A heavy ceremonial mallet from the lower Snake River, Columbia County, Washington . Dense, hard stone, phallic shaped. These are well illustrated in the literature of Columbia River prehistory, but ceremonial mallets, unlike utilitarian mallets are more refined, show little surface wear. Rare. Magnificent.
