African Lip Plate Sudan

A very old wooden lip plug "kichepo", South East Sudan. A fan shaped wooden piece of adornment with a groove all around for insertion. Worn, smooth, blonde patina. Ex-Collection Angela Fisher, author Africa Adorned, New York, 1984. Exceptional, extraordinary example. Excellent condition. On a custom metal stand. Circa late 19th/early 20th century.
