African Lobi Weathered Bench

A fantastic Lobi bench, Ivory Coast, W. Africa which has been used and treasured for generations. These pieces absorbed the personality and tales of the owner, in this case surely one respected elder after another of the same family. Sitting close to ground, with an arching back, this bench, or stool, would have been revered for its age, and its ability to support and serve as a seat for the wise. As good as any contemporary sculpture. A rare piece and a favorite of ours.
