Three Rare Australian Aboriginal Boomerangs
#153097

Three rare old, small aboriginal boomerangs. The first (top) from the northern rivers regions of NSW. Showing a wide middle like a pendulum, and light arms. Minor wear at tips and edges. Similar to a boomerang illustrated in Records of Times Past, ed. Isabel McBryde. The middle boomerang, heavy and thick, with the feel of a hybrid between a small leangle club and a boomerang. From SE Australia. The third (bottom) of a smooth, blonde wood, much older to the touch than shows in a picture. Elegant form. A Queensland returning boomerang from an area known for its rainforest shields. All unusual, rare examples. Circa early 20th/ late 19th century.
