2 Aboriginal 19th Century Boomerangs
#153095

Two superb 19th century aboriginal boomerangs. The first (top) with very fine stone adzing, with a surface which appears to be chipped in a shimmering pattern, front and back. Likely used for bird hunting. Small loss at one edge, a couple of tiny holes from an early collector. Western Australia. The second (bottom) from S.E. Australia with fine parallel striated lines, also stone cut. Minor loss at one end, ancient loss of some surface, and a bit of white paint obtained post collection. Both rare, fine examples.
