French Athletic Horse, Circa 1920

An extraordinary French athletic horse. In a trapezoidal shape, divided into 6 stacking pieces, each with apertures for easy movement, and a leather top platform. These individual sections could be removed or added to make the horse smaller or larger. Inside the horse, there is a hollow space in which legend says that like the Trojan Horse of old, persons were occasionally hidden. Very good condition. Brown leather surface remains soft and supple, with a couple of small cuts and good signs of use and wear.
