COMMENT
In a Kafkaesque statement Wayne asserted: “At this time in my life I was viewing people as part veneer, and part primordial. When were people just people, and when were they creatures? I was interested in how much weight you could give to an image, making an image that was absolutely neutral, and then weighting it emotionally in one direction or another.”
—June Wayne, from Robert P. Conway, “A Catalogue Raisonné 1936-2006, June Wayne: The Art of Everything” Rutgers University Press, 2007.
