Large and heavy prehistoric Chumash Indian stone anchor found on ocean floor off coast of Southern California. Groove for native rope. Ancient shell accretion on stone. Well shaped, and unusually large. These would have been used on the famous large canoes on which the Chumash plied the Southern California islands and coast. Rare and beautiful.
