A transparent glass stamp from Western Anatolia. Achamenid, late 6th-5th century BC? Stamp shape displays an octagonal pyramid, peforated transversely. Convex face is worn and chipped so that the heads of the animal and human figure in combat cannot be seen. The winged animal is represented upright facing left, although it appears to be standing on all fours using the left edge of the seal face the ground line. Exhibited 1988, The New Jersey Museum of Archaeology. "Miniscule Monuments of Ancient Art". From the Virginia E. Bailey Collection. Illustrated in museum catalogue as seal no.145. Rare.
