Samburu Stool, or very large headrest, Kenya. In the same general form as smaller headrests seen amongst the Samburu, but substantially larger, an impressive piece of sculpture. From the organic shape of the tree trunk and the spreading branches from which it was expertly fashioned. Well patinated and worn. Circa early to mid-20th century. Rare in this character and quality.
