Aboriginal Queensland Massive Axe

A massive aboriginal Queensland Rain forest stone axe head of very hard stone. Abundant surface deposits. Flat ovoid shape, with a well sharpened and very broad leading edge. An ancient chip towards butt. Good patina. It is said that these axes were made gigantic in response to the size of the great timbers that once existed in Queensland. We have not seen another of this size or refinement. A very rare piece.
